About GIK
Born in Kakuma, led by community
Green Initiative Kakuma is a legally registered community-based organization founded in June 2023 by four young people from Kakuma Town. We work at the intersection of climate education, community resilience, indigenous knowledge, ecosystem conservation, and sustainable food systems.
Through community-led programs, partnerships, training, dialogue, and awareness campaigns, we promote practical climate solutions rooted in local realities while incorporating modern scientific approaches.
