2. What we collect
This site does not require an account, and we do not run a contact form. The only personal data we receive directly is what you choose to send us when you click an email or phone link, partner with us, or volunteer. That may include your name, email address, phone number, organization, and the contents of your message.
Our hosting provider may collect basic technical data in standard server logs (IP address, user agent, page requested, timestamp) for security and reliability. These logs are not used to track or profile you.
3. How we use your data
We use personal data only to respond to your message, coordinate partnerships, donations, or volunteering, and where required to comply with legal obligations. We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data.
4. Cookies & analytics
This site does not set advertising cookies. If analytics is enabled in the future to understand traffic patterns, this page will be updated to describe the tool, the data collected, and how to opt out.
5. Sharing
We share personal data only when necessary to deliver a program, with explicit consent, or where required by law. Implementation partners (such as funders or co-implementing NGOs) may receive limited information about a partnership or grant inquiry where you have initiated contact through them.
6. Storage & retention
We store messages and inquiry records for as long as needed to manage the relationship and meet legal obligations under Kenyan law. After that, we delete or anonymize the data.
7. Your rights
Under the Kenya Data Protection Act 2019, you can ask us to confirm what personal data we hold about you, correct inaccuracies, restrict or object to processing, and request deletion. To exercise these rights, email us at greeninitiativekakuma@gmail.com.
8. Children
GIK works with youth in community programs in person. This website is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children online.
9. Updates
We may update this Privacy Policy as the website or our practices change. The updated date at the top of this page reflects the latest revision.
